The return of spring, marked by near summer temperatures, is also synonymous with the return of pollen. At the same time, the French territory is in the grip of an epidemic recovery. For allergy sufferers, it has become simple to confuse the two.
The symptoms of allergies “for the most part evoke the Covid and you really have to make the difference”, explains Doctor Nhân Pham-Thi, allergist in Paris. “There are an alphabet : the A for atchoum, these are repeated sneezing. B for blocked, the nose is obstructed. C not for Covid, but it runs everywhere, the nose, the eyes“, continues the doctor.
And the list of the different symptoms of allergies keep on going. “D, the major difference is that this itchy nose, throat, all surfaces. The E is for irritates because it gives trouble. F it’s tiringso there is this asthenia which comes at the same time as this allergy crisis”. For his part, Covid-19 is different by fevers, even chills but also by body aches and loss of taste and/or smell. In case of doubt, however, it is recommended to go for a test at a pharmacy.
