Tierschutz Austria presented homemade dog ice cream recipes
Vienna (OTS) – “On hot days, four-legged friends are also happy regarding a cool ice cream. We’ll show you how to make a vegetable, liver sausage, wet food or fruit ice cream and treat ice cubes,” says animal shelter director Stephan Scheidl. “The dogs in the animal shelter have tested the recipes extensively and found them to be good. Of course, all recipes should be checked for their own animal’s tolerance,” continues the animal expert.

RECIPE 1: (THE SAFE NUMBER)
Ingredients:
1 can of wet dog food 250 ml of water
Preparation:
Put wet food and water in a bowl and puree with a blender until it becomes a mushy mass.

RECIPE 2: (LIVER SAUSAGE ICE CREAM)
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons cottage cheese 2 tablespoons liverwurst for dogs A small dash of oil for consistency
Preparation:
Put 2 tablespoons of cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of liver sausage in a bowl. Add a small dash of oil and mix everything together and puree. Pour into a suitable ice cream mold and freeze in the freezer for a few hours.

RECIPE 3: (VEGETABLE ICE CREAM)
Ingredients:
½ cucumber½ carrot2 tablespoons plain yogurt (or water)
Preparation:
Wash cucumber and carrot thoroughly and cut both in half. Peel ½ carrot and puree together with ½ cucumber. Then mix the mixture with 2 tablespoons natural yoghurt (or water). Pour the mixture into an ice mold and freeze in the freezer for a few hours.

RECIPE 4: (FRUIT ICE CREAM)
Ingredients:
½ apple½ bananaA small handful of strawberries2 tablespoons yogurt (or water)
Preparation:
Place ½ an apple, ½ a banana and a small handful of strawberries in a bowl and puree everything together. Then add 2 tablespoons of yoghurt (or water) to the pureed mixture and stir well. Pour into an ice cream mold and freeze.

RECIPE 5: (IF YOU NEED FAST)
Ingredients:
Beef or chicken broth (as needed)Small dog treats
Preparation:
Boil beef or chicken broth and let cool. Pour the cooled beef or chicken broth into an ice cube tray. Add 1-2 dog treats per compartment and freeze for a few hours.
