if you use a Mac for quite some time, you should know that there are different customization and configuration options for these machines. One of these options concerns your processor, which may include more or fewer CPU cores depending on the model.

Usually this information can be consulted on the product box itself, but if you don’t have it anymore, see how simple it is to check all the details of the processor that equips your computer! ????‍????

first method

The easiest way to do this is to open System Settings and go to General » About. Then click on “System Report…” at the bottom of the screen. It is also possible to open it through the “Others” folder of the Launchpad or “Utilities”, in the “Applications” tab of the Finder.

With the report open, select the “Hardware” tab. In “Hardware Overview”, you will be able to check not only the processor and the number of CPU cores, but also the model identifier and the serial number of your machine.

second method

In addition to checking this information through the System Report, it is also possible to use the Terminal. Open it, type the following command and press return:

system_profiler SPHardwareDataType | grep "Cores"

With this, the same processor information as the Mac will be displayed.

Simple, isn’t it?! ????
