After the strikes at the SNCF in January, Thursday, the Minister of Transport assured that a device would be put in place for 20,000 users of the Intercity lines. In the meantime, they are struggling. This is the case of Hubert who, four months later, finally received his money for his round trip from Zurich to Paris. “My tickets were canceled because of the ticket inspectors’ strike. As I had bought materialized tickets, I had to buy more on the online platform. And then, of course, I tried to get a refund the first tickets I had bought”, explains the user.
The hassle of some users
“I had to take steps on the website. It was a real headache, that is to say, to open a file by indicating the necessary references. Despite all my efforts, the steps on the site internet didn’t work at all. What I ended up doing was writing them a letter with acknowledgment of receipt. I ended up getting a refund of my initial 200 euros following four months and a lot of gray hair on top of that” , he regrets.
“However, I found that it was really stupid because the only way to get reimbursed was to write to them by paying myself for the acknowledgment of receipt and the registered mail”, concludes Hubert.
What is the protocole ?
In both cases, no need to register. Users will be identified and notified using SNCF files. They will receive an email from customer service in the next few days, which will tell them how to obtain compensation.
The Intercités, which are partly subsidized by the State, have been particularly affected by the strike movements since the beginning of the year. It is for this reason that the Minister of Transport wants such a measure, described as “exceptional” by the SNCF.
