A customer at Eneco, Florent decided to change energy supplier following the health crisis. Having taken the necessary steps, the change is initially carried out without problem. Except that one day, an invoice from Eneco arrives. “According to them, I had consumed 3,096 euros.”

“And I had only paid 438 euros in advance. So I had to pay 2,658 euros,” he continues. “I then paid around 300 euros for eight months and thus repaid my debt to Eneco.” At least that’s what he thought, as he explains to our colleagues at Belang van Limburg.

“When the entire payment procedure seemed to be completed, I received a letter from the collection agency Flanderijn asking me to pay 938 arrears immediately. But now a bailiff is sending me a subpoena. I have to go to court to explain why I did not pay 713 euros,” he laments.

“What did I do wrong,” he asks himself. Contacted, Eneco indicates that the situation has been resolved. In fact, Florent had already paid the collection agency. “I get the double payment back. In addition, I also recover the additional costs that were charged for the late payment, i.e. 170 euros.” So all’s well that ends well.
