There is perhaps no scarier scenario in the digital world than losing your precious information such as photos, videos, passwords and contacts. That’s why it’s essential that you keep a backup always up to date — be it in the cloud (via iCloud) or via Mac/PC.

In addition to making the backup itself, it is possible to archive it on your computer — allowing you to be able to go back if you have installed a beta version of a new software, since it’s not possible use a backup of a beta version after installing a stable one again.

See how super easy it is to do! ????

Start by connecting your iPhone/iPad to Mac/PC. Depending on the type of computer you are using, the next step could be one of these:

On Macs with versions prior to macOS Catalina 10.15, open iTunes and click the device icon in the top bar. On Macs running macOS Catalina 10.15 or newer, open Finder and click the device name in the left sidebar. On Windows PCs, use iTunes or the Apple Devices app, available in the Microsoft Store, and follow the same procedure described above.

Then click “Backup Now” (you may also need to enter the password on your iPhone/iPad to start the process). Then wait until the process completes. Depending on the file size, this could take a while.

Once this is done, go to “Manage Backups…” on the same device management screen, right-click (or use ⌃ control and left-click) on the backup and choose “Archive”.
