How to activate a filter for spam accounts on Instagram

One of the most annoying things about Instagram is the overwhelming number of spam accounts and botswhich are created to inflate the number of followers of a profile or to offer products or services, for example.

Although moderation of this type of content has improved in recent times, this is far from over. Therefore, the Meta messenger allows you to activate a filter so that, from there, you can analyze and remove possible followers that are spam or bots from your follower list.

Open Instagram on your iPhone, tap your profile tab (in the bottom right corner) and choose “Settings and privacy”. Then, go to “Follow and invite friends” and activate “Filter spam followers”.

Once this is enabled, you will need to approve them for them to follow you. In the meantime, these accounts will be held for review in your Instagram follower list.
