The Public Ministry (MP) reported this Friday, April 5, that the Prosecutor’s Office once morest Transnational Crimes presented the investigation to issue a sentence in a case of marketing and sale of stolen cars.
This is Byron Estuardo Amézquita Galindo, who was convicted of the crime of marketing and selling stolen vehicles abroad.
Amézquita Galindo was sentenced to six years in prison at a hearing to accept charges before the Seventh Pluripersonal Court of First Instance of Narcoactivity and Crimes once morest the Environment.
The capture was recorded on March 7 at the La Aurora International Airport, where he was traveling on a flight from Colombia with a stopover in Costa Rica and final destination Guatemala.
The Prosecutor’s Office investigation was carried out following complaints filed by vehicle leasing entities abroad.
According to the complaints, the convicted man along with his partner of Honduran nationality leased automobiles using false documents in order to seize them and later sell them in Guatemala.
The convicted man was using documents with Mexican identity at the time of his arrest.
