The special settlers were sent there in two river caravans – the tugboat led several barges, in the holds of which the deportees were accommodated, from regarding a thousand to one and a half thousand people each. Sending medicines and food were kept to a minimum. On the river island of Nazinsky (Nazino), the exiles were landed on May 18 and 26.
In the first two weeks, the island was in complete disarray, Sergey Krasilnikov explains. The special settlers, one by one or in groups, began to fight for survival. After two weeks, the islanders began to slowly settle in the special settlements created on the coast.
