How tall is Shaqiri? The shortest players at Euro 2024

In football, we often hear regarding a player’s physique, height, strength and power. The truth is that having more or less of these qualities does not determine a player’s ability to play well. In fact, in the ranking of the 22 shortest players in the Euros, there are some big names. Shaqiri (1.69m), N’Golo Kanté (1.71m), Frimpong (1.71m), Phil Foden (1.71m), Doku (1.71m) or Vitinha (1.72m) are some of them.

Leaders of the ranking

Hungary and the Netherlands lead the list with their players Callum Styles and Ian Maatsen respectively. Both are 1.67 metres tall, but not by much. Just one centimetre separates them from the third and fourth places, occupied by Romano Schmid (Austria) and Stanislav Lobotka (Slovakia).

Most represented teams

Despite the fact that the Netherlands is known for having the tallest inhabitants in the world, the Clockwork Orange not only tops the ranking, but also has double representation. Of the sixteen teams included in the ranking, six have double representation: Belgium, Portugal, Georgia, Austria and Switzerland accompany the Netherlands.

Some of these teams, despite having two players on the list, occupy the top four of the tallest. These are Portugal with Vitinha and Belgium with Leandro Trossard, who are joined by Poland with Michał Skóraś and the Czech Republic with Petr Ševčík. All of them are 1.72 metres tall.
