Scams in Colombia do not stop and criminals take advantage of various Internet tools to get their way. Through social networks, a woman reported a delicate case of scam on Facebook, after she put her cell phone up for sale.

The complainant explained that at first everything was rosy, since the supposed buyer did not skimp on paying the price she demanded and they agreed to complete the purchase through WhatsApp.
“I got a buyer through Marketplace, I was super excited because they accepted the price I wanted and the woman told me that the husband was going to write to me on WhatsApp to finalize the purchase, we finalized everything,” said the woman.
Everything was ready and all that was left was to complete the delivery via video call to verify that all the elements were in order. The buyer agreed to send a courier to pick up the phonea situation that the complainant considered strange.
“I told him that I would not give him the cell phone when the money was in my account, he told me that the Picap had already arrived and I went out with my father, because I was not going to go out alone to deliver that and he told me: first we make a video call to confirm that everything is super good, I told him, ah done, no problem,” he said.
How they are scamming with Nequi
When the motorcycle arrived to pick up the package, the woman supposedly received the transfer through Nequi, but it never arrived. The man sent him supposed transaction receipts and even He invited her to uninstall the application, because it supposedly had bugs.
“He told me ready, I already sent you the money, he verified the data and sent me the receipts, but obviously I had to enter my Nequi to check if the money was there and the money was not there, he told me to uninstall it because that was “bug,” he said.

At no time did the transaction arrive and the application ended up blocking, since they were supposedly trying to log in from another device, a situation that the woman is grateful for because she could only access it with facial recognition.
