Buckingham Palace announced today, Thursday evening, the death of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, at the age of 96.

Prince Charles is supposed to ascend the throne of Britain, succeeding his mother, the late Queen.

In March 2021; Forbes magazine published a report on the wealth of the British royal family, specifically Queen Elizabeth II

The magazine noted that the Queen’s personal assets are worth $500 million.

Among the assets that cannot be sold, the report assessed nearly $28 billion in assets, Buckingham Palace ($4.9 billion), the Royal Cornwall Estate ($1.3 billion), Lancaster Estate ($748 million), and the Royal Palace of Cornwall ($748 million). Kensington (about $630 million), and the Crown Estate in Scotland ($592 million).

According to David Hay, chief executive of Brand Finance, the royal family does not profit from the 1,000-year-old firm.

The royal family contributed an estimated $2.7 billion annually to the UK economy before the coronavirus outbreak.

Since she inherited the throne from her father in 1952; Queen Elizabeth II presided over the Firm, even if she had no final say in how the business was run.
