Al-Marsad newspaper: The investor and consultant in private education, Salem Al-Ghamdi, revealed the extent to which private education students benefit from a high school degree.

Al-Ghamdi said during an interview on the “Saudi Street” program: The private education student does not benefit from the high school degree even if the score reaches 100% because its percentage is small in the “weighted” composite percentage.

He explained: There is no importance for high grades in all previous years that the student does not benefit from. Therefore, if we are talking regarding the second year of secondary school, the high grades before the aptitude and achievement tests are because universities were relying on these percentages, the effect of which is small and weak.

He pointed out: If a student who comes from any public or private school with grades of 100% has a good education, his chance of entering universities is close to zero percent, because the strongest influence on the student’s result is abilities and achievement, so the student does not benefit.

He continued: There is a huge inflation in grades and it has become a global problem, so they set external standardized tests outside the framework of the ministry to address it in the world, but it is not a problem of private education.

He concluded: The situation in public and private education is not good in general and is not honest, so the validity of school tests is very weak.
