How much will the Vinotinto receive for going to the quarterfinals in the Copa América?

The advancement of La Vinotinto to the quarterfinals in the 2024 Copa América not only represents a reason for sporting celebration for the Venezuelan team, but also brings monetary benefits for the team.

According to the sports media ESPNthe South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) will give 2 million dollars to the teams that advanced to the quarterfinals.

However, the teams in the tournament had already received an amount of 2 million dollars just for their participation.

Conmebol allocated around 32 million dollars in participation fees, while the other 40 million dollars are for the prize-winning teams in the tournament.

How much could the winners of the 2024 Copa América receive?

The Conmebol could deliver the following million-dollar figures to the teams that reach one of the first four places in the 2024 Copa América:

-Fourth place: will receive $4 million.

-Third place: $5 million.

-Second place: will receive $7 million.

-First place and tournament winner: $16 million.

In the last edition of the Copa América held in 2021, the organization awarded Argentina, the winner of that edition, a total of 6.5 million dollars, according to ESPN.

The Vinotinto’s path to the quarterfinals

The Venezuela’s national team secured its passage to this phase after beating Mexico 1-0in a meeting that took place on June 26 at the SoFi stadium, in Inglewood, Los Angeles (California, United States).

La Vinotinto finished first in Group B after their victory against Jamaica 3-0 On June 30, a match was played at the Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas. La Vinotinto had already defeated Mexico and Ecuador, which allowed them to advance to the quarterfinals with a perfect score.
