1622-2022: France celebrates the year Molière, born 400 years ago. The author of learned women, from doctor in spite of himself or Tartuffe is the most performed playwright in the world, in competition with Shakespeare. Among the many events dedicated to Jean-Baptiste Poquelin – Molière’s real name – an exhibition in Versailles, near Paris, shows how this “national glory” was put at the service of France, especially internationally.
