In Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky’s popularity rating increased by almost 4.5 percent after the offensive in the Russian region of Kursk, but it is still just over 15 percent. More than 57 percent of Ukrainians want to fight until victory and recapture the occupied territories, including Crimea, but 41 percent want an agreement with Russia to end the war. In addition, 80 percent are dissatisfied with the way things are going in the country. These are the results of an opinion poll conducted from August 9 to 11 by the association “Advanced Legal Initiative” across Ukraine, including Crimea, the occupied regions and areas affected by the fighting, as well as abroad, where the largest number of Ukrainian refugees are concentrated.

According to the information, 5,255 people aged 18 and over were interviewed, 50 percent in person and 50 percent by telephone. The margin of error, according to the association, does not exceed 2.0 percent. Against the backdrop of the Ukrainian offensive in the Kursk region of Russia, the majority of respondents, 57.18 percent, believe that it is necessary to fight until victory: the restoration of territorial integrity within the 1991 borders and the achievement of membership in the European Union and NATO. 41.01 percent of respondents are in favor of holding a referendum on the conclusion of peaceful agreements with Russia, 36.92 percent are against it, while 22.07 percent consider it difficult to answer.

Since the start of the offensive against the Kursk region, President Volodymyr Zelensky’s popularity rating has increased by 4.49 compared to last March, but the popularity of Yulia Tymoshenko (2.97 percent), Petro Poroshenko (1.84), and Vitaly Klitschko (2.49 percent) has also increased. At the same time, the number of respondents who believe that things in Ukraine are going in the wrong direction has increased to 80 percent.
