You can also keep coffee beans in the freezer in sealed containers for 3-4 months. However, freezing is not considered the best way to preserve their quality and taste.
Beans that have been stored beyond these time periods may taste stale or lose their freshness. This does not mean that they are dangerous for consumption. Usually, it will just reduce their quality.

Ground coffee
Similar to beans, an unopened package of ground coffee should stay fresh until the manufacturer’s expiration date.
Opened packages should be kept in an opaque, airtight container at room temperature, away from heat, light and moisture. When stored this way, coffee usually stays fresh for 1-2 weeks.
Instant coffee has a longer shelf life. Some say it can last 2-20 years when stored properly. That is, in a sealed package or airtight container in a cool, dry and dark place. Opened packages are also believed to last up to several years.
Capsules, according to ladylike, like those used in an espresso machine, are another type of ground coffee. They will also stay fresh until their expiration date.
Store the capsules in a container or drawer away from heat and light. Since they are individually sealed, it is not as important to keep them in an airtight or well-sealed container.
Remember in general that ground coffee is usually safe to drink following the expiration date, as is the case with beans. However, it probably won’t taste as fresh or strong.
