Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the Corona pandemic has changed everyone’s perceptions of dealing with mental health.
This came during a press conference held by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, today, Wednesday; To announce the launch of the first national electronic platform for free mental health and addiction treatment services.
He added: Mental health is the human ability to deal with the surrounding conditions correctly, away from anxiety and crisis. Before Corona, most of our concepts of mental health were related to the treatment of diseases related to mental disorder, but following Corona there appeared many psychological problems and the biggest problem is that service providers put in The same conditions that require psychological harmony because we are dealing directly with a rapidly spreading virus without knowing its causes, treatment and the extent of the damage that may befall the recipients of the health service.
He continued: What distinguishes the service provider from the recipient is knowing what to do, but for the first time we stand with the recipient on an equal footing with knowledge of this disease, pointing out that providing the health service electronically and this has become an imperative under these circumstances.
Abdul Ghaffar explained that the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with global health partners, was able to launch an electronic platform to achieve justice in achieving health service, whether in remote or central governorates, and this represents success in finding solutions from scientific research to deal with major crises, especially the Corona pandemic.
