Brand new set for the France 2 news, multiplication of special live editions, new information meetings on France 3, creation of formats on social networks… After the appointment of Alexandre Kara at the head of the information at the end of 2022, France Televisions has increased its efforts to transform its news coverage. Taken together, these initiatives illustrate a desire for renewal that the public group had not experienced since the merger of its national editorial teams almost ten years ago. Informing of course remains a key mission for the group and, even if the details of its new objectives and means contract (COM) are not yet known, strengthening the local offer is one of the demands of the public authorities. It is therefore no coincidence that the establishment of regional editions on France 3 is the flagship project of the season.

Another objective: to rejuvenate audiences, in a context of decline in television media. For this, France Télévisions began to involve the YouTuber Hugo Travers (aka Hugo Décrypte). This fall, the group also launched a news program on social networks also broadcast on the France Info channel, aimed at 12-18 year olds. Two others, for 8-12 and 18-25 year olds, are to be launched.
