How feasible is the concept of ‘warp drive’ traveling faster than the speed of light? – Life & Style

In scientific circles, the concept of faster-than-light space travel exists in the form of “warp drives”, which seems like science fiction. But now scientists say warp drive is possible.

New research claims that warp drive is possible in real life.

The concept of a “warp drive” was first mentioned in “Islands of Space”, a science fiction novel by John W. Campbell, but it did not become widely known until it was used in Star Trek. Not included in the series.

Scientists have believed for years that this particular technology might allow spaceships to travel faster than the speed of light.

In 1994, Mexican physicist Miguel Alcubierre also thought that warp drive might become a reality, but he highlighted a significant hurdle that would have to be overcome.

what does it mean? Suppose there is a hundred feet long river in a field. If you walk at a speed of one second per foot, you will reach one end of the river in one hundred seconds.

But if you pull the rope strongly towards you, you will now reach from one end to the other in just a second.

This theory does not contradict the laws of relativity because your speed did not exceed the speed of light. Alcubere proved that the warp drive shown in Star Trek was theoretically possible.

Miguel Alcubierre claimed that its success would require the use of a “negative energy” that, as far as scientists know, does not exist.

Now, however, a new paper published in Alcubierre’s ‘Classical and Quantum Gravity’ by University of Alabama Huntsville and applied physicist Jared Fuchs suggests that warp drive does not require negative energy.

“By demonstrating a first-of-its-kind model, we have shown that warp drives cannot be relegated to science fiction,” the paper reads.

The report added that ‘using a sophisticated combination of traditional and new gravity techniques, a “warp bubble” might be created that might transport objects at speeds well within the limits of known physics’.

But, Fuchs and his team admit that even if the science exists to enable a “warp drive,” building one is still not possible.
