The “multi-device mode” has a sub-function called “companion mode”, it is a tool that gives you the possibility of linking your WhatsApp account on any other cell phone as many times as you want, it is as if you were logging in and out of different mobile. Remember that the aforementioned option will not affect any version of the app.
- At the moment, the companion mode will first be tested in the WhatsApp Beta program for Android users, don’t worry, we will tell you how to get it later.
- Nor will you close the account of the person who is lending you the secondary cell phone, since some Android devices have the “Dual Messenger” tool, which allows you to duplicate applications such as WhatsApp.
- Duplicate the app following downloading the beta version (important).
- Now, open the copy of WhatsApp, choose a language and click on “Accept and continue”.
- They will ask you to register a phone number to create an account, but click on the icon of the three points that are located in the upper right corner.
- Two options will be displayed: “Help” and “Link a device”, choose the last one.
- A QR code will appear immediately.
- The next step is to open your WhatsApp account on the main Smartphone.
- Touch the three dots (top right) > “Paired devices” > “Pair a device”.
- The camera will be enabled for you to scan the QR code of the secondary equipment.
- Wait a while for the chat history to sync and then you will chat on both devices without any problem.
- You can only link your account on two mobiles at the same time, which will be encrypted thanks to the “end-to-end encryption” security mechanism.
