Gorman claims that Apple may make the AirPods an FDA-approved hearing aid.
Recent changes to rules in the United States related to hearing aids may help Apple achieve this goal.
Recently, the United States began allowing users to purchase hearing aids without a prescription.
This new rule is expected to allow forApple company marketing the upcoming AirPods as a hearing aid as well.
The report also claims that if Apple starts offering AirPods as hearing aids, it might help a large number of users.
AirPods health features
Apart from Live Listen, Apple’s AirPods Pro also includes another feature that helps users with hearing impairments.
Conversational enhancement uses the device’s microphone to help amplify conversations.
This AirPods Pro feature can amplify the conversations in front of the user. This feature may not be as useful as Live Listen, but it makes it easier for the user to follow the conversation.
In 2016, Apple also obtained another approved patent for a system that allows the company to track users’ heart rates, body temperature, and other vital health-related data.
This information can be collected via earphones and earphones.
In this case the biometric sensor is placed inside one of the earbuds.
A few years before the first AirPods were released, Apple also patented sensors built into the earbuds that would help the company measure users’ heart rates and sweat levels.
