Getting from the Los Angeles airport, known as LAX, to the city center is easier than you think. It is located regarding 30 kilometers from Union Station, the main train station and from where you can take buses and the subway. Therefore, if you arrive at Union Station you can move to practically any place not only in Los Angeles but also in California.
One of the cheapest and easiest options to get from Los Angeles airport to the city is to take the FlyAway bus. It has a cost of 9.75 USD and can be paid with credit, debit or cash card. The journey takes regarding 45 minutes (depending on traffic) and has a frequency of approximately every 30 minutes. You can take this bus at the official stops that you will find in each airport terminal.
The bus will drop you off at Union Station, from where you can take the subway or public bus network to move around the city. I decided to stay near the station, in the hotel Miyako located in the Little Tokyo neighborhood, so it was even possible to walk.
