Parts of a new video by Korean pop band Blitzers were shot in Lahore, Pakistan, featuring the ancient city’s Badshahi Mosque and food street, as well as truck art.
Trucks of Pakistan are known for their unique art which is based on animals, celebrities, places and sayings painted in vibrant colors.
The art is well received by exhibitions in galleries abroad and its miniatures are sold in stores in Western countries, making it one of Pakistan’s most popular cultural exports.
In recent years, UNESCO has used trick art to promote girls’ education in Pakistan’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Arab News, the Korean group Blitzers arrived in Pakistan with the help of agronomist Mohammad Qamar Hayat Tawana and his wife Anna Tim. The couple are Korean-Pakistani who regularly represent Pakistan on South Korean TV.
Qamar Hayat Tawana said that his wife ‘Tim was the one who convinced the band to shoot in Pakistan instead of neighboring India.’
Twanah said: ‘On their return I presented them with some gifts, including our national dress, the shalwar kameez.’
Haider Ali, the famous truck artist of Pakistan, used this art on the wall of his house to create a picture of George Floyd, a black citizen who was killed by the American police, which went viral around the world.
K-Pop’s video ‘Hit the Boss‘ features Pakistani buildings and truck art, which has received over 5 million comments in less than a week. Hyder Ali told Arab News regarding this video that the country’s cultural heritage is making its mark around the world.
He said that it is great to see trick art becoming a part of other cultures and being embraced wholeheartedly by people in different parts of the world.
According to him: ‘People are trying for peace through different means.’

I don’t think any other country has something like our truck art. So anything that brings some positive aspect to Pakistan I am happy with it.’
