A unique and new record has been set for the highest number of runs scored in an over in international T20 cricket.

Island nation Samoa batsman Darius Visser created a new record and made history by scoring 39 runs in an over during the East Asia Pacific Qualifier A match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on Tuesday.

In the match played at the Garden Oval in Samoa, Darius Visser hit 6 sixes off Vanuatu’s Nalin Napiko, including 3 no-balls, for 39 runs in an over.

Earlier, in the inaugural edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2007, Yurvaj Singh made a record of 36 runs by hitting 6 sixes off 6 balls off English bowler Stuart Broad.
