Clarifications for him way of remuneration of private sector employees who will work on it Green Monday (March 18) provided by the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE) and the Confederation’s Workers and Unemployed Information Center (KEPEA/GSEE).
Clean Monday is not included in the public holidays, defined by the law for workers in the private sector.
However, private businesses in our country are delayed in the event that Clean Monday has been designated as a holiday by a special provision of the law, by a provision of the Collective Labor Agreement, by the company’s work regulations, by business habit and/or custom, during which the business remains closed on this day.
If a business works exceptionally this yearwhereas, in previous years, it did not operate, based on a Collective Labor Agreement, work regulation, business habit or custom, then, for their full employment, employees are entitled to a salary increase of 1/25 and those paid by a daily wage another day’s salary, on whose hourly wage the 75% surcharge for work on public holidays will be deducted.
