In episode 111 of the AI/Hyperautomation Minute, Tom Smith shares highlights of a recent discussion with Divya Krishnan, vice president of product marketing at Celonis, regarding product demos featuring the integration of Generative AI with the company’s core process mining technology, as well as additional steps being taken to expand the ecosystem of process mining functionality.

Highlights

00:15 — Tom introduces the discussion by sharing details of Celonis product announcements and demos that took place at its World Tour kicking off this week. Enhancements and new products build on the company’s object-centric process mining technology, which enhances customers’ ability to monitor all the elements of common processes, such as order to cash, so it can identify areas for improvement.

00:50 — Krishnan says the company is “continuing to double down” on its AI strategy, thinking regarding how it can enable AI to be even more powerful, especially in light of recent advancements (in Generative AI) that have come regarding.

01:11 — She says Celonis is uniquely positioned to provide process intelligence — which she defines as data contextualized with process knowledge, which is then made more intelligent through machine learning (ML). The data that Celonis provides is a unique class of data that customers wouldn’t be able to access from any other source. The company’s hypothesis is that by making process intelligence data available to companies creating AI solutions, that creates new opportunities.

02:53 — The technology combination is enabling two audiences: analysts who are already familiar with the company’s Process Query Language (PQL) but may not be experts, and business users, who are those that don’t know PQL and don’t really know what process mining is. For example, they might use generative AI and natural language queries to understand their automation rate in accounts payable. The technology being demoed was built in partnership with Rollwhich specializes in virtual digital assistants.

04:18 — Celonis is inviting customers attending its World Tour to participate in early adopter engagement and feedback sessions with product teams. It’s not making it available at large to customers as of yet. “We will want to make sure that we’re getting that feedback and that validation as we continue to go forward.”

04:57 — Celonis’ intent is that by making process intelligence available to an ecosystem, those partners can enhance their own applications, enabling AI and large language models, to orchestrate automation.
