How big is the wealth of Arab sovereign funds?.. Here are the numbers

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)–The sovereign fund of the “Kuwait Investment Authority” ranked first among Arab sovereign funds, and third globally, followed by the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and then the Saudi Public Investment Fund in third place in the Arab world, according to data from the Institute SWFI, which monitors the evolution of the assets of sovereign funds around the world.

A sovereign wealth fund is a state-owned investment fund consisting of government-generated money, often derived from surplus state reserves, whereby sovereign funds provide a benefit to the country’s economy and its citizens.

The Norwegian State Pension Fund topped the world with a value of $1.4 trillion, and the China Investment Corporation came in second place, with a value of $1.2 trillion.
