A ballistics expert was required following a double assassination attempt committed on the night of Saturday to Sunday at the Bois de Baconval estate, in Gourdinne (Walcourt), informs the Namur prosecutor’s office on Monday.
Around midnight, a man contacted the police claiming to be the target of suspicious actions on the part of a person he clearly identified.
At the same time, this suspect presented himself to the big hospital of Charleroi because a bullet had been fired at him in the foot. The special unit of the Charleroi police proceeded to the arrest of the author of the phone call and the gunshot. The latter had three weapons at his home and opened fire on the police with one of them. The case was put to the instruction of the head of double assassination attempt and possession of prohibited weapons.
This Monday, the Namur prosecutor’s office specified that a ballistics expert was required. The arrested suspect, who is only known to the courts for old driving facts, is due to meet the investigating judge on Monday.
