Sana’a: A Houthi spokesman said a missile attack on a US warship forced the retreat of two US merchant ships.

At the same time, the US Central Command claims that the missiles that came at the ship were shot down.

The Houthis, who had been repeating that they would only attack ships connected to Israel, had made it clear that they would also attack their ships following the US and Britain attacked Yemen.

“There was a clash with an American warship today in the Straits of Aden and Bab Al Mandab. “They were looking to protect two American merchant ships,” Houthi spokesman Yahya Saari said.

Sari said the two-hour standoff resulted in a missile attack on the American warship, and the merchant ships retreated. He also said that the warship’s defensive effort failed.

Meanwhile, CENTCOM, which is in charge of U.S. forces in the area, says two missiles fired by the Houthis fell into the sea and another missile hit the ship.
