An attack with ballistic missiles and a drone against a Greek-owned cargo ship that was traveling in the Red Sea was launched by the Houthis, as announced by the American administration (US Central Command) in a post on Twitter.

According to the announcement the attack took place sometime between 10 am and 5:20 pm (Yemen time) on Monday targeting the cargo ship Cyclades sailing under the flag of Malta.

According to the same statement, “initial reports indicate that there was no injury and the ship continued its normal course”.

The Greek-owned Cyclades, with a capacity of 60384 dwt, was built in 2017 and belongs to the Eastern Mediterranean company of Thanasis Martinou.

In a video posted on X, a representative of the Yemeni armed forces referred to the “operation”.

According to the US administration, on Monday morning, USCENTCOM forces engaged and destroyed a Houthi drone that was targeting the US Navy ships USS Philippine Sea and USS Laboon in the Red Sea.
