Houses painted blue, care centers for the elderly, child development places, police stations and youth employment opportunities have reached the countryside and the city of the department of Caldas.
Is social infrastructure has been implemented by Governorate of Caldas with an investment of 934 thousand 694 million pesos, in its commitment to close the gaps and make the department a more equitable territory.
“We went from house to house, borrowed or rented. Everything was very difficult and with the arrival of the house my quality of life changed. We can be more comfortable. This will be another Christmas in peace and harmony,” said Diana Milena Manrique, beneficiary of Rural Housing.
Stories like Manrique’s are heard throughout the splendid region of Caldas, since there are already hundreds of people impacted by the housing revolution, initiative that brings with it programs such as Rural Housing, Community Blocks, Housing Improvements, Housing in Guadua and Relocations.
The Departmental Administration does not remain in the mere structure, but has developed other programs that make it possible to impact the attention, safety, culture and sports of the people of Caldas.
“Caldas delivers a positive balance in this accountability in terms of development. We are gaining in housing and we continue advancing in educational infrastructure”, said Luis Carlos Velásquez Cardona, governor of Caldas.
The investment in infrastructure has positively impacted the lives of Martha Osorio Betancur and her son, a student at the Jaime Duque Educational Institution, in Villamaría: “It seems very important to me that the institution benefited from an expansion because children feel safer that way, they want to go to school more, enjoy a good education and share with their classmates”, mentioned Osorio Betancur.
Added to the testimonies of Manrique and Osorio is that of Police patrolman Yeison Ricardo Holguín Holguín, who thanks to a scholarship was able to study to serve the Homeland: “The Governorate of Caldas he did well to promote scholarships for young people who wanted to be police officers in the department. It has been an impressive change in my life, I already have my project done, thank God. I had the desire to study something that I really liked and would generate a job immediately. The Police allow me to do that and through the Government of Caldas I was able to create my life project ”, he specified.
