The police were notified just before 9 o’clock that parts of the roof of a four-person home in Hagavik in Os in Bjørnafjorden had blown off and hit a house wall. The callers also said that there had been a lightning strike. At the same time it was raining heavily.
The Meteorological Institute sent out a yellow warning about torrential rain for parts of Vestland on Saturday.

In Hagavik, it eventually became clear that the roofs of three buildings had either blown off or were about to be ripped off in the strong, local wind. The residential buildings are located in Skeisbotnen and Ulenvegen, and a sports hall in Skeismyra was also hit.

The roof, which disappeared from one of the buildings in the same road, landed a hundred meters away, according to the operations manager.
– It seems that there was a strong wind that hit very locally. Minor damage has been observed to cars in the area, and some roof tiles have flown off the roof. Every individual resident in the area is encouraged to check their own property for damage and report it to their insurance company, says Dahl-Michelsen.
Rained straight in
After the incident, it rained straight into the apartments in the building, which were left without a roof.

A total of four people were evacuated, one of them to the local fire station. The other three arranged a place to travel to themselves.
