House Protection to Release First EP on September 13

House of Protection(MI/HO)

HOUSE of Protection, the new project from Aric Improta and Stephen Harrison, has announced their debut EP, titled Galore, will be released via Red Bull Records on September 13.

Along with the announcement, House of Protection released their fourth single titled Pulling Teeth along with the official video of the song which they recorded at one of the famous carnival attractions in Ahmedabad, India, namely the Well of Death.

In the video clip, Aric and Stephen perform their latest single at the bottom of the Well of Death wooden hole while surrounded by motorbikes and cars trying to defy gravity, watched by many people at the top.

Known for their boldness in taking creative risks and consistently producing boundary-pushing visual works, Pulling Teeth is proof that there is only one like House of Protection out there.

Regarding the process of making this video clip, House of Protection said, “On the first day we met with the Red Bull Records team, we immediately asked if they were willing to fly us to India to perform at Well of Death – an idea that had actually been in our heads for a long time. Unexpectedly, this idea was immediately approved by them, with the condition that we only had to find the right song.”

“After our second workshop session with Jordan Fisher, we were able to complete Pulling Teeth, and felt that this song was the perfect choice to accompany the video concept we had in mind. We feel that we perform best when paired with a somewhat chaotic environment, so we are very excited to see what will happen with the visuals of this song,” House of Protection continued.

“After 30 hours of travel, including a sudden flight cancellation, flooding at our transit airport in Dubai, the cancellation of a location shoot due to protests in the area, and an additional 16 hours of round-trip travel through the desert to a backup location, we finally made it to the Well of Death. There we shot 9 videos with the audience there. Our director even threw up while shooting and there was an incident where one of the motorbikes in the hole died in the middle of its performance. However, the results were far better than we could have imagined. We are also grateful to have an amazing team on the ground who made it all possible,” they said.

Apart from providing an official video with an incredibly challenging concept, this band is close to the high risk, high reward mentality.

The duo continues to explore beyond the boundaries of creativity. Through this music project, they have broken many stereotypes related to existing music genres through each release.

Starting from their debut single, It’s Supposed To Hurt, an energetic song that managed to rock many alternative music lovers, to their song inspired by the musical style and rhythm of the drum n bass genre, Being One.

For their mosh pit, metal, and underground rave fans, House of Protection will surely continue to maintain a cohesive sense of chaos in their diverse music, which can ultimately be heard on their debut EP Galore with its six-song showcase.

The EP’s producer, Jordan Fish (former Bring Me The Horizon member) also managed to balance the raw recording with a clean production style, while also giving enough space to highlight Aric and Stephen’s vocals for the first time. (Z-1)
