“House of the Dragon”: exhausted, the showrunner leaves the series

He throws in the towel. Whereas House of the Dragon a hit on HBO, Miguel Sapochnik announced that he was leaving the series. Co-director and co-showrunner of the project, he will therefore not work on the second season, formalized a few days ago by HBO. “Working in the GOT universe over the past few years has been an honor and a privilege, especially over the past two years with the ‘House of the Dragon’ crews.”he explained in a press release relayed by the American mediawhile specifying that the decision had been particularly difficult to make.

“I’m so proud of what we managed to accomplish with season 1 and I’m overjoyed to see the reaction of viewers. (…) But I know it’s the right choice for me, personally and professionally”continued the director of 48 years who will continue to be credited as an executive producer of the series.
