As fans of this story remember, in the first chapter, Queen Aema gave birth to a baby boy whom King Viserys I decides to name Aegon. However, like his mother, the child dies, leaving the monarch uncertain that he lacks a male heir to the throne.
Thus, the Targaryen king makes the decision to name his only daughter, Princess Rhaenyra, as second in his line of succession. But as you can see in the preview of the third chapter, the birth of the male prince, she takes her away from her dream of one day being queen. Furthermore, Viserys I reminds her that she must fulfill her duty to marry.
