CHAIRMAN of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, criticized lifestyles and reminded the General Elections Commission (KPU) to save on election budgets.

In a hearing (RDP) held on Tuesday (10/9), he touched on the use of jet aircraft that the KPU had used during the distribution of logistics for the 2024 Election.

“In my opinion, whatever, whether it’s logistics, (geographically) distant areas, all kinds of things, the use of private jets is not fast. It’s not fast,” he said at the DPR RI Building.

“Because for the hundreds of millions of Indonesians, riding a private jet is not something common,” continued Doli.

In addition, he also said that the potential for waste by the 2022-2027 KPU period was because it had to spend an extra budget to rent apartments for the leadership of the KPU RI. In fact, the commissioners have received official housing facilities.

Member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Arteria Dahlan, on the same occasion, responded to allegations of waste related to apartment rental for the KPU RI leadership. He then confirmed with the KPU whether the apartment rental and its maintenance were findings by the BPK or not.

“I will report this to the BPK. This can’t be done anymore. This is a finding,” said Arteria.

Other alleged waste committed by the Indonesian KPU is the official car facility which reached two units and the planned meeting of the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) in Jakarta. In fact, PPLN has been disbanded along with the end of the 2024 Election stages. (Tri/P-2)
