In the Wels hotels, numerous guests must have slept poorly last night. This is not due to the quality offered: Today, the MedAT, the entrance test for medical studies at the JKU, takes place in the Wels trade fair. Many of the 2,074 registered participants had already arrived the day before, giving the hotels in Wels excellent booking figures.
Your houses are fully booked, said Alexandra Platzer from Bayrischer Hof and Hotel Alexandra yesterday followingnoon. “Many book at short notice, we know that from the past few years.” The period – Thursday to Friday – is ideal because tourists usually only arrive at the weekend and representatives from Monday to Thursday. “Some who travel further afield even stay for two days,” says Platzer.
Sophie Schick reported that there was no space left in the Hotel Hauser yesterday either: “You can tell that many are very excited.” She is very happy that the entrance exam is taking place in Wels: “For us, that always means that we are very busy for two nights.”
