Kozhikode: Fried berry, jaggery upperi, jackfruit and chukkappa in bamboo-wrapped baby baskets, Kozhikode halwa spread on banana leaves, kannykod pattiri and porota, goat stuffed with fish in iron pans, mango curry, milk kappa and neichor in pots… Blogs from 19 countries came to taste the unique dishes of Kozhikode. About 35 dishes were in front of the people.
The state government’s Kerala Blog Express with 25 selected international bloggers reached ‘Adam’s Tea Shop’ on the beach on Sunday followingnoon. It started with roasted fruit, jaggery upperi and halwa. Plates were also prepared to serve the favorite dishes. While eating, Mayor Bina Philip also arrived. The bloggers replied that the tastes were different from each other and they all tasted good to the mayor who inquired regarding the taste of Kozhikode dishes.
The MD of the hotel said that Kozhikode has prepared a ‘Mixa’ of traditional dishes for all sections. Anees Adam said. After landing at Kozhikode beach and enjoying the coastal rain, the group also visited Gujarati Street.
Then C.V.N. A group of bloggers also watched the Kalaripayat done by the Kalariasans of Kalari. The group reached CVN Kalari in Kozhikode around 11 am. After the show, they asked regarding Kalari and Atav and learned regarding various Kalari treatments.
The group includes bloggers from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Italy, Romania, US, UK, Netherlands, Canada, Kenya, South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Turkey and Colombia.
Raksha Rao and Somjit Bhattacharya are from India. The journey started from Thiruvananthapuram to experience the beauty of Kerala first hand and to inform the world will end at Kasaragod.
