topic of the day

Hot summer weekend in NRW • Plenty of sunshine, temperatures of up to 35 degrees and at most a few clouds in the sky: today and tomorrow many are likely to start sweating even without physical exertion. In the followingnoon there will be a few cumulus clouds, preferably from South Westphalia to the Eifel – but they only provide shade for brief moments. In the late evening, a heat thunderstorm in the Eifel area cannot be ruled out. In the Lipperland and in the Bergland it might get up to 31 degrees and on the Rhine up to 35 degrees. It’s going to be sunny tomorrow, but it’s getting increasingly muggy. Heavy showers and thunderstorms are possible during the day – also at up to 35 degrees.

The sunny weather should ensure a rush to outdoor pools and bathing lakes. The visitors to the many events this weekend – from Bochum Total to the finals in Düsseldorf and Duisburg to the CSD in Cologne – have to be prepared for high temperatures.
