Abidjan – The host team has to tremble at the Africa Cup of Nations after a debacle for promotion to the round of 16. The Ivory Coast, with Salzburg striker Karim Konate starting in the 65th minute, lost the last group game against Equatorial Guinea 0-4 (0-1) on Monday. The Ivorians now have to hope to be promoted as one of the four best third-place teams in the group. In addition to group winners Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria is also in the knockout round with a 1-0 (1-0) win over Guinea-Bissau.
