Dr. Hossam Mowafi, Professor of Critical Cases at the Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al-Ainy, explained that varicose veins may cause clots when they worsen, and this is in the case of placing the feet in a plaster cast, pointing out that the clot can move to reach the lung, as a result of neglecting the treatment of varicose veins.

The professor of critical cases indicated that there are blood-thinning medications and drugs, which the fractured patient must take, and he underwent a cast, to avoid clots.
