Hospitals implement emergency plan: Evacuating the wounded from the “Pager”

The field developments in the South and the Bekaa and the escalation of Israeli attacks on a number of areas have caused concern among many hospitals about how to deal with these developments, especially after their rooms were crowded with many wounded as a result of targeting the suburb with the two massacres of communications devices and targeting two buildings in the suburb last week. Accordingly, a number of hospitals began to evacuate the wounded after they underwent surgical operations required by their first stage of treatment, so that they could receive new wounded who are being transferred from the areas that were targeted yesterday.
The evacuation operations began two days ago, while some believed that a number of hospitals dealt with the matter from a security perspective, especially those that revolve around Western countries, and their fear of being questioned as a result of the presence of a number of resistance elements in them. The data indicates that all hospitals dealt with the wounded without obtaining their names or any information about them, and they were listed with the doctors’ names, and these were discharged from the hospitals in the same way, and their files were referred to the “Hariri Governmental Hospital.”
More than one doctor, who spoke to Al-Akhbar, confirmed that the hospitals had done what was medically possible for the wounded from the pager and communication devices, and that it was not possible for them to remain in the hospitals in light of the increasing number of wounded who were flocking to them. They pointed out that the first part of the surgical operations had ended, and these people had moved to their homes, so that they would complete their treatments later.

3000 wounded, each of them needs 12 surgeries and treatment sessions for 5 years

According to doctors, the treatment of the wounded is expected to continue for the next 5 years, with some of them needing to undergo about 12 surgeries and physical and physiotherapy sessions. They point out that all those injured, numbering 3,000, need a unified treatment because the injuries are identical and of the complex type: injuries to the hand and face with shrapnel in the eyes, while “there is no similar experience in history, as similar injuries that occurred previously are few and did not occur in a single period of time, and most of them were in factories in India and others in mines as a result of explosions.”
Doctors point out that there is no medical center specializing in complex restoration operations, which also require a specialized and creative medical sector capable of following up on this large number. Therefore, consultations began between the concerned parties, the Ministry of Health, the “Health Authority” and doctors, to secure more than one center. The first idea was to transform the “Turkish Hospital” in Sidon into a specialized restoration center, while other doctors indicated that the Turkish hospital is located in an unsafe area in the event of an increase in the rate of Israeli attacks, in addition to its inability to accommodate this number of injuries, which necessitates the presence of more than one center, so that the wounded can continue their treatment.
