The 1,706 cases of dengue registered in Bolívar, 30 of them serious, led the Government to decree the Hospital Red Alert due to the epidemiological situation that this area of the Caribbean Coast currently presents, said the Secretary of Health Alberto Bernal.
The measure, announced at the end of the Departmental Council for Disaster Risk Management which was developed at the headquarters of the Government, seeks to increase preventive actions and better care tools in the face of the situation generated by the increase in dengue cases.
Bernal made a special call to the mayors of the different municipalities to simultaneously deploy actions in each population within the framework of this dengue outbreak control plan, carrying out a collective articulation of all campaigns and actions.
“The main recommendation to the community is to eradicate all the useless that they have in the patios of their homes and keep the water reservoirs completely closed since they are the places where the dengue-transmitting mosquito reproduces”indicated.
In turn, the director of the OAGRD Bolívar, José Ricaurtetrusted that with the declaration of the Hospital Red Alert, the municipal mayors should intensify epidemiological surveillance and reinforce medical care in health centers.
