While emergency services in public hospitals in medium-sized towns, such as Laval (Mayenne), or large towns – such as the Rennes University Hospital – had to close for several nights or, in the case of Rennes, regulate access, the president of the FHF put forward several explanations on Tuesday 20 August on France Inter’s 6-9 channel. Arnaud Robinet mentioned a shortage of staff and the need for the hospital to compensate for the influx of patients from the private hospital sector and community medicine.
