An unloaded horse truck overturned on the Westautobahn (A1) between Haag and Oed (Amstetten district) on Sunday evening. A firefighter who happened to be passing by became the first responder: he reacted with quick wit and rescued two people from the accident vehicle before it burst into flames. The C15 emergency helicopter team treated the seriously injured, and they were taken to hospitals.
The lane in the direction of Vienna was completely closed for the rescue and extinguishing work. There were no animals in the transporter. The lockdown will continue into the night.
