A fire caused the death of six racehorses on a farm located in the Mendoza town of Tupungato, which generated a loss of four million pesos, police sources reported today.
The event occurred this morning, around 6, at the “Chiodi” farm, located on Calle Los Álamos and Calle 8, in the Cordón del Plata, of the aforementioned town located regarding 65 kilometers from the provincial capital, when a fire broke out in a stable with eight racehorses, six of which died.
From the expertise, it emerged that a call to the emergency line alerted to the beginning of a fire on a farm in Tupungato, for which reason fire personnel traveled to the place where they found a declared fire.
Fire personnel, following interviewing the owner of the farm, worked to extinguish the flames in the stable where there were eight racehorses.
After a few hours they managed to extinguish the flames and upon entering they found six of the cremated equines, the sources indicated.
Likewise, the personnel worked in the place to determine the reasons for the start of the fire.
According to data provided by the owner, the losses reach four million pesos, while the investigators await the results of the expertise whose case is being carried out by the Jurisdiction Prosecutor’s Office, Tupungato, Mendoza.
