The film, directed by Bene Dion Rajagukguk, has managed to attract more than 2.8 million viewers since it premiered on June 2, 2022.
Horrible Horrible Delicious was also selected as an Indonesian film registered in the Best International Feature Film category at the 95th Academy Awards.

Synopsis:
This film, produced by Imaginari and Kathanika Entertainment, tells the story of a husband and wife couple, Pak Domu and Mak Domu (Tika Panggabean).
The couple lives in a house on the shores of Lake Toba, with their only daughter, Sarma.
Their three sons, namely Domu, Gabe, and Sahat, migrated to the island of Java.
Pak Domu and Mak Domu wanted Domu, Gabe, and Sahat to return to their hometown to attend a traditional event.
However, the three of them refused due to the disharmonious relationship with Mr. Domu.
In order to get attention and ensure that their children come home, Pak Domu and Mak Domu plan a scenario pretending to be in conflict and regarding to divorce.
Horrible Horrible Delicious received a lot of praise for presenting a family story that most people are close to.
The dynamics of various problems and the complicated relationship between parents and children, coupled with the Batak cultural background that intersects with current issues, captivate the audience.
The film attracted more than 1 million viewers in 11 days since it first hit theaters.
