A 23-year-old young man was stabbed to death and another was injured following a fight in the Plaza Serrano area, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, and a suspect was arrested for the crime.
The incident occurred around 6:30 yesterday on 1500 Serrano Street, near Plaza Serrano, where there was a fight between a group of people that culminated in the homicide.
Police sources reported that according to witnesses, the dispute began following one of the attackers left a pizzeria located a few meters away.
As a result of the fight, a young man, identified as Agustín Adrián Luna (23), was seriously injured by a stab wound to the stomach and later died at the Fernández Hospital.
Meanwhile, another boy, named Nicolás Tomazo (25), was wounded in one of his arms, the sources added.
After the incident, personnel from the Investigation Division of Commune 14 of the City Police began to investigate what happened and, with the testimonies provided by the people who were at the scene, they identified the alleged aggressor.
According to the spokespersons, the suspect, identified as Ricardo Romero, of Paraguayan nationality, was detained at the door of his house, located at 1650 México Street, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Montserrat.
In addition, investigators seized along with the detainee a knife that he would have used during the attack, a backpack, a jacket, packing tape and a cell phone.
The Criminal and Correctional Court 2 intervenes in the case, headed by Judge Manuel Gorostiaga, who initiated proceedings for the crime of “homicide” before Secretariat 107.
