Horror at Sea: The Terrifying Tragedy of the Titan Submarine and its Mysterious Implosion

Numerous experts tried to reconstruct the course of events surrounding the deadly adventure of the Titan. Many came to the conclusion that it must have been a short and, above all, surprising death.

But not José Luis Martín. The Spanish submarine expert assumes an absolute horror scenario.

As he explains to the Spanish magazine “Nius”, the submersible went into a vertical fall before the implosion. This should have lasted regarding a minute.

Due to this long descent, the pressure on the submarine’s hull also increased very quickly. The engine is likely to have failed accordingly, which in turn made emergency measures such as ballast dumping and stabilization impossible.

“Imagine the horror, the fear and the agony. It must have been like something out of a horror movie,” says Martín. «In that period of time everything became clear to them. And in total darkness at that.”

The implosion and thus the death of the occupants is said to have occurred only following the approximately one-minute descent.

In addition to OceanGate owner Stockton Rush, British entrepreneur Hamish Harding and French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet were also killed. Pakistani billionaire Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son, Suleman Dawood, also died.
